What Information Is Needed for a BOM RFQ
A clear BOM enquiry helps suppliers review part numbers, quantities, timing and supply conditions without unnecessary back-and-forth.
Part numbers and manufacturers
Include complete manufacturer part numbers where available. If a line is incomplete or customer-specific, mark it clearly.
Quantities and timing
Add line quantities, total project quantity, target delivery date and whether the requirement is for repair, sample, pilot or recurring production.
Alternatives and supply conditions
State whether alternatives are acceptable, whether original or factory-sealed material is required, and whether EOL, excess or date-code requirements apply.
Attachments and review notes
Upload the BOM, datasheets, product photos or labels when useful. Avoid confidential or restricted information that is not needed for sourcing review.
